MY TAKE ON THE BET AWARDS......

SOOO okay...

I just want to say a few points

I was on twitter the entire show...

I was reading some responses from numerous people...so this isn't directed at any specific one

People were very VERY upset that Michael Jackson's tribute wasn't "better" or "Nicer" or the he didn't get enough attention. Sometimes I think people just couldn't WAIT to complain about things

Let point out a few things

1. Michael Jackson is the icon of all icons. He has been around for decades and decades. He may be the most famous entertainer of all time...HONESTLY, TWO DAYS IS NOT ENOUGH TIME TO GET TOGETHER AN "AWESOME" TRIBUTE FOR SUCH A LEGENDARY MAN. its just NOT enough DAMN TIME. PERIOD. I think that did what they could in the 48 fricking hours that had to try and get something concrete to dedicate to that man

2. Its the BET AWARDS...they have NEVER had an "AWESOME" awards show...NEVER. So whyyyyyeeeee would you expect this year to be any better. Im not sayin this was a great show...hell naw I aint sayin that...could it have been better, perhaps. But Im not bout to bash them and all that...

3. The performers had NO TIME TO PRACTICE. 2 Days..come on. I give them credit just for knowing the songs...and for agreeing to perform with only 2 days practice. KUDOS to them.

4. WHEN YOU MOFOS START PLANNING AND RUNNING A mutli-million dollar, nationally aired AWARDS SHOW WHERE CELEBS MAKE LAST MINUTE CHANGES, DONT SHOW, CALL OUT SICK, GO PEE, CAN'T READ, TALK TO DAMN LONG then you can talk. When you running a multi-million dollar awards show THEN YOU CAN SAY "Damn..whats this shit..I could do it better"...umm..no the F*CK you can't..

5. Had this been done months after his death, sure it woulda been better. MUCH BETTER..but I am glad they got some kinda recognition in...some kind.

There were several performances dedicated to mike. New Edition, Ciara, Beyonce, Neyo and Jamie Fox, Kee Kee Palmer. Im surprised they were able to get anybody to perform last minute like that...ANYONE.

And why people hating cause the Ojays had a good honor performance...STOP ....That spit was planned months ago..thats why it was so good. Not only that, THEY DESERVED IT. It may have been hard for them to even DO THAT since micheal's passing..cut them some slack and give them credit. THE SHOW MUST GO ON ...

Of course MTVs tribute will be better, THEY DIDNT ONLY HAVE 2 FRICKING DAYS to plan it..and their awards show has been around longer, they had their problems in the beginning too

Again.. you people try to run, plan, and execute a LIVE awards show with flighty, alcohol and drug addicted celebs and creole/NY divas and just when you think you have it under control...THE KING OF POP DIES and you have to REARRANGE THE WHOLE DAMN THING that took you MONTHS to plan in 2 FREAKING DAYS. When you go thru that..THEN you can talk about HOW WACK IT IS

Sincerely,

True2me

*ps..i know people gon come at me for this..but this is HOW I FEEL..I do NOT have to agree with the majority AND I WILL NOT

I am always TRUE2ME

Mofos acking like MJ lived in they damn house

oh..and the hurricane preshow performance was SCARY..that ninja trippin on ACID or something?

I agree, I'm sure there will be other tributes to MJ coming up soon. Something they have time to plan. Joe Jackson was there so as long as he wasn't upset nothing else matters.

first of all, how this this thing sign me onto my gmail without me putting in my password?

I didn't see the awardss but I did see all the tweets & FB comments complaining how dissappointed people were with them....I agree with you and some others who gave the producers the benifit of doubt since they only had 48 hours to put it together...I'm quite sure the whole show was already to go when the news broke - again, I agree with your points.
