Hello All,
As we can all see, our society is steadily moving faster and faster towards the digital age. With that comes newer forms of communication. We have plenty of ways to talk to people, contact them, even meet them. There has never been a better way to get reaquainted with your classmates from elementary school than Facebook. There has never been a better way to post your random bullshyt than on Twitter. Shoot..I have friends that met their significant others on message boards. Now that we have Twitter, Facebook and Gawd knows what else, I ask, WHY CAN'T WE FIND LOVE FROM THESE COMMUNICATION APPLICATIONS.
People still rag on meeting girls/guys on twitter, facebook, myspace and even blackplanet. I remember when people were meeting other people from chatrooms and message boards and were getting looked at all kinds of crazy. Now with the emergence of other new applications, it's only fair to assume that people will still be getting hooked up from all the various sites out there.
Why then is it so outlandish to actually grow a liking to someone based off twitter or facebook or anything like that. I mean if you spend alot of time on there as I do, people will know your personality from your font. One of the main arguments people have against hooking up meeting people on the communication app sites is "People lie on twitter, facebook"...umm...PEOPLE LIE IN REAL LIFE TOO. Otherwise we woudln't need dontdatehimgirl.com and justdontwifeher.com. The other argument of course is "People act different on those sites as they do in real life". This may be true, but think about it. Without the pressure of being face to face, you will get more out of a person and more of their thoughts because they can hide behind the keyboard. You are also getting their up to the minute thoughts..some shyt that would not have been said out loud. Shoot, look at all the celebs that are so regular to us now cause of their twitter accounts. So in essence you ARE getting the real them on twitter and facebook as opposed to in person. The other argument is "What if they don't look like their picture?" MOFO YOU DONT EVEN LOOK LIKE YOUR PICTURE. They may actually look better in person. Shyt, I think twitter or facebook may make you LESS shallow. You can like their personality first, meet them in person, and be even more attracted to them despite the fact that they look like they have down syndrome.
So I say GO FOR IT. If you like someone from facebook, twitter, and God forbid even BLACK PLANET. Hit them up. Ask them out. Meet them in person. You never know what could be in store for you. Shyt, at least you may have some good sex or get a hook up, a free drink or even just a shout out...like this one:

The same ppl that stick their noses up about online dating..are the same ones sitting home with no options..lol
Man I don't care where I meet someone..if I like you I like you. All these fake stuck up people talkin bout how they dont hook up off twitter...whatever, more options for me
While I never hooked up with anybody that I met online, though I did give it some serious thought back in the day, I don’t knock anybody that has.
Though, I will be honest, I don’t know how you can really get to know somebody on twitter, a blog maybe, but twitter and 140 characters?
@Three..u do know that you can most mulitple 140 character statments and opinions. Its not much different from a short bio..but you can repeat it. Plus you can make plans to communicate further offline
@ True
Lol, yeah I was aware of the ability to post multiple times (I’m not THAT out of touch with the young hip crowd lol) I would just be reluctant to use twitter, if that was my thing. But like I said, I will not knock anybody that uses anything to find companionship (of any length). I know it’s important and as long as you aren’t hurting anybody then it’s cool in my book.
Hey True,
It's 2009 right folks. You can meet people anywhere noadays. Who cares if it's off twitter, facebook or myspace...do you!
I think more folk are coming around really. It used to be the whole liar bit but honestly people lie all up in your face they don't need a keyboard to start up with the stories. Fake pictures crack me up though...if someone meets you and you don't look like your pics you will get blasted.
